Aromatic and strong-flavoured white wines, red wines, deep and bright when new and with an exquisite bouquet when aged, they are the heritage of many centuries of vine-growing in the famous Quintas de Alenquer.
Alenquer, "crib-town", birthplace of Damião de Góis, opens its doors to an itinerary that includes the beautiful rural villages of the West, with its white windmills and houses, its large and sunny mansions, as well as a remarkable set of important churches and convents.
Porto da Luz, Meca, Aldeia Galega, Aldeia Gavinha, Merceana, Atalaia, Labrugeira, Penedos or Abrigada are just a few examples of this contagious rurality, a feeling that will remain with you until you reach the mountain range of Montejunto. There you will find the village of Pragança, the Real Fábrica do Gelo (royal ice factory), the Parque de Campismo Rural (rural campsite) and the Centro de Interpretação Ambiental (environmental interpretation centre).
Enjoy the hiking trails of this Protected Landscape area.
This is the exploration we propose.
